Altmayer trial pushed back to October

The Grundy County trial of an Ankeny man accused of attempting to entice minors in the Dike area last summer has been delayed until October at the request of judge Kellyann Lekar, who filed a motion for continuance last week.
           
Jeff Lee Altmayer, who was originally set to stand trial in Grundy County beginning Wednesday, faces a total of four felony charges: three counts of Enticing a Minor Under the Age of 13—Sexual Abuse or Exploitation (each a Class C felony) and one count of Enticing a Minor Under the Age of 16—Sexual Purpose (a Class D felony) for two alleged incidents, one at the Dike City Park on June 21, 2016, and another at the Dietrick Mobile Home Park between Dike and Cedar Falls on August 2. Combined, they carry a prison sentence of up to 35 years.
