Anderson returns to lineup, Comets down Rebels

REINBECK – Returning for her first game of 2018 off a finger injury, Lauren Anderson scored 15 points as BCLUW bested Gladbrook-Reinbeck 63-28 in NICL West action on Friday.
 
Madison Ubben had a game-high 20 points for the Comets and added 12 rebounds. Anderson added eight rebounds and four steals as the Comets improved to 5-7 overall and 2-4 in the NICL West.
 
BCLUW broke free after the first quarter for a 12-5 run in the second and a 27-17 lead at halftime.
 
"We knew coming in they'd press us," Anderson said, "and I thought we handled that very well."
 
The Comets blew the doors off in the second half, outscoring G-R 21-4 in the third stanza for a commanding lead, emptying the bench in the fourth quarter.
