Arlington Place celebrates ribbon cutting of multi-million dollar addition

GRUNDY CENTER – In July of last year, Arlington Place began construction on a $2.6 million addition to the existing apartment community. After about nine months of work, the addition is complete, and community members joined Arlington Place staff and residents to celebrate the grand opening at a ribbon-cutting ceremony last Friday.
“The building project really went up rather quickly,” said Kaylene Hoskins, manager at Arlington Place. “It was fun for everyone to watch the construction and dream about the finished project, and the reality of our new building is so much better than our daydreams.”
The new addition adds six assisted living apartments to the community, as well as 10 memory care apartments, which will enable Arlington Place to offer more memory-specific care and activities for any residents that need them.
“The new addition allows those with memory issues such as dementia or Alzheimer’s to be cared for in a secure environment,” Hoskins said. “It allows seniors to live in an apartment that is theirs and receive only the cares they need.  It lets them have a sense of independence and security. We also have a great time here. We encourage laughter, fun and friendship.”
