BCLUW seniors urge classmates to 'Be the Difference' at commencement

BCLUW honored its 58 graduating seniors as the featured speakers reflected on their shared journey toward graduation during the commencement ceremony at the high school in Conrad on Sunday afternoon.

After an introduction from high school principal Kristyn Kell, speakers Lucas Halverson, Leah Mosher, Ben Paper and Grace Purvis recounted their own memories and stories before offering advice to their classmates on heading out into the world and charting their own paths.

“As most graduates will tell you, enjoy your time while it lasts because it will not last forever. Your time in high school really does fly by, and if I could, I’d relive it all again in a heartbeat,” Halverson said.

He went on to implore younger students to respect and listen to those in positions of authority, strive for self-improvement and learn that “nothing in life is free” while thanking parents and teachers for their instrumental work in molding the members of the class of 2019.

“I want everybody in here to remember that everything we enjoy in our lives was paid for with somebody else’s blood, sweat and tears, so don’t take anything for granted. And have grace,” Halverson said. “As we move through the future, remember that life will work out exactly the way that it’s supposed to. And with that said, Class of 2019, I’ll see you guys at the reunion.”
