City of Reinbeck adds fitness equipment on outdoor walking trail

REINBECK – With some help from local grant dollars, the city of Reinbeck was able to purchase and install a 10-station exercise system for the outdoor trail in town.
The equipment ranges from a stretching station to a pull up station to a leg raise station and more. Each station is accompanied by instructions and tips for using the equipment.
Reinbeck City Assistant Dana Schoenbeck said the exercise stations were a joint undertaking by her, Mayor Tim Johnson and City Administrator Julie Wilkinson to promote health and physical activity in the community.
“It’s something we saw a need for,” Schoenbeck said. “[The outdoor fitness stations] really make us stand out as a town, no other towns around have anything like this. And it’s a great thing that people can use to switch things up and add challenge or variety to their workout.”
