The BCLUW girls’ shuttle hurdle relay team had something to celebrate as they crossed the finish line in the finals at the girls’ state track and field meet Saturday. Not only had the Comets finished third in the event, but they had also set a school record in the process.

“It’s awesome being two of our senior years,” senior Nicole Lutes said. “We’ve been in it all four years and this was definitely our goal coming in - we wanted to make the top three and to accomplish that is awesome.”

The team’s other senior, Bobbi Paper, noted that the top-three finish will get the team a special place on the school’s wall of fame.

“We graduate tomorrow, so nothing like last minute,” she said. “We get to replace our record, put our face on the wall. It’s awesome memories.”
