GRUNDY CENTER – With spring finally here, Grundy Center is beginning to come to life again, as construction crews set to work on projects around town.

One of those projects is the new paved parking lot at the Grundy County Courthouse annex building.

A crew from King Construction has been on the scene since last Monday installing the new paved parking lot, and work is expected to be wrapped up by mid-week, says Mark Jungling, County Custodial/Maintenance Director.

The new parking lot replaces the temporary gravel lot that has been in use at the new annex building since the former annex building was demolished in December.

Once finished, the parking lot will be available for use for county employees, and visitors to the annex building. Jungling noted that after crews are done installing the pavement, the parking lot will be closed for roughly two weeks to let the concrete set; meaning no person should walk or drive on the concrete until then.
