TRURO – Check another one off Dike-New Hartford football's to-do list.

And check one off for Don Betts, too.

The D-NH head coach took a rare selfie with his team to celebrate the Wolverines' 37-0 victory over Interstate 35 in a Class 1A state quarterfinal clash in Truro on Friday night.

"I've maybe taken one or two selfies in my life," Betts said, laughing. When asked if he had the camera facing the right way around: "I think so. We'll see."

There was much cause for the Wolverines to rejoice, making the 2-plus hour road trip to Madison County worth the journey as D-NH clamped down on the previously-undefeated Roadrunners.

D-NH improved to 11-0 on the season and will play Pella Christian (8-3) in the semifinal round at the UNI-Dome. The Eagles handed Bellevue its only loss of the season in the quarterfinals on Friday in a 23-21 nailbiter. Van Meter (11-0) will play West Sioux (10-1) in the other semifinal.

Cade Bennett rushed for three touchdowns and 247 yards on 31 carries as D-NH's linemen came up big once again.

"Cade can get through any hole," lineman Owen Goos said. "Makes it easy to block for him and we like seeing him run up the field. [The Roadrunners] made it a little tougher on us tonight but I thought we held our own."

After a 1-year absence, Dike-New Hartford is back at the UNI-Dome. No more long road trips to Iowa City or Truro.

"We need to keep dialed in and keep playing physical like we have been," Bennett said. "It was a tough game tonight, but we got it done."
