Four volleyball teams advance to regional finals

Four volleyball teams in the Grundy Register coverage area will play in regional finals next Tuesday for a spot in the state volleyball tournament in Cedar Rapids. All four games will start at 7 p.m. on Oct. 30.
 
Grundy Center 25-25-27, Wapsie Valley 20-18-25
 
In Class 2A, Grundy Center defeated Wapsie Valley in straight sets on Thursday in a regional semifinal. The No. 1 Spartans will play No. 11 Wilton at Cedar Rapids Xavier in a Region 7 Final.
 
Dike-New Hartford 25-25-25, Lake Mills 17-20-20
 
In 2A Region 6, Dike-New Hartford swept Lake Mills in straight sets to set up a regional final between the No. 6 Wolverines and No. 13 Hudson in Parkersburg on Tuesday.
 
BCLUW 25-25-16-25, Woodward-Granger 23-23-25-22
 
In 2A Region 4, BCLUW won in four sets over Woodward-Granger to advance to Tuesday's final in Earlham against No. 7 Tri-Center.
 
Gladbrook-Reinbeck 25-25-25, North Tama 18-17-23
 
Finally, 1A Region 3 will feature No. 11 Gladbrook-Reinbeck taking on Ar-We-Va in Boone after the Rebels knocked off No. 5 North Tama in straight sets on Thursday in Traer.
