G-R dissolution process quietly moves forward

“Last call. Don’t be shy. Anyone?”
           
Not a single attendee of Monday night’s Gladbrook-Reinbeck public hearing on the prospective dissolution spoke one way or the other, and just 21 people showed up to the high school auditorium as the seven-member dissolution commission finalized its proposal to send to the school board for approval at its May meeting.
           
If the whole song and dance feels familiar, it’s because G-R has already been through it once before: residents of the Gladbrook and Lincoln areas organized a push for dissolution in 2015 before the district’s lawyer deemed a majority of the signatures invalid and advised the board to throw out the petition last August.
