GC Chamber of Commerce appoints new director

GRUNDY CENTER – Earlier this month, the Grundy Center Chamber of Commerce announced the selection of a new Chamber Director – Laura Cahalan – who began her new role on October 2nd.
Cahalan enters her new position with a wealth of knowledge about the marketing side of business, which she brings from her previous position at a strategic marketing and communications firm, where she worked for the last 10 years.
Her overall goal in her new position, she says, is to use her experience to help invigorate and enhance Grundy Center, while learning and expanding her skills in a new environment.
“The city of Grundy Center has a lot to offer, and I think looking at the way we repackage that message or how we tell that story will be great not only for commerce and business in town, but overall quality of life here, too,” she said. “My goal is to look at all the different organizations that support Grundy Center and find a way where we can all work together, because anything we can do to combine our resources and efforts to maximize our results is great.”
Cahalan currently lives in Dike with her husband and two children, and says she is looking forward to getting to know the community of Grundy Center a little better through her new position.
“I think Grundy Center is a great place, and I’m excited to get to know more people within the community and uncover some of those hidden gems that really make this place great, and just immerse myself more in the community,” she said.
Cahalan can be reached at the Grundy Center Chamber of Commerce office during office hours, or by phone at 319-825-3838.
