GC school board discusses elementary addition

Talks of a possible addition to the Grundy Center Elementary Building continue with the Grundy Center School Board.

Currently, the board is weighing options on which direction they want to go first - whether it’s creating space for fifth grade students to rejoin the building, or creating space to accommodate preschool students at the building.

For some time now, both issues have been a topic of discussion for the board; they would like to see fifth grade students rejoin the elementary building, but there is also a need for space for the preschool students, who are currently housed in the Upper Elementary Building.

“Nothing is set in stone, and the board is looking at different options right now,” said Grundy Center Superintendent Neil Mullen. “I think the board is doing a great job at making sure they’re investigating all options, and getting a lot of info on everything before they make any decisions.”
