GC/G-R, D-NH shine at district boys' golf tournament

The Grundy Center/Gladbrook-Reinbeck boys’ golf team had an impressive day at the Fox Ridge Golf Club on Friday, May 20, earning a state tournament bid with a championship in Friday’s district tournament.

    Dike-New Hartford was represented by one golfer, Royce Weber, who shot a 73, which was the low score for the tournament.

    Weber, a junior, had an impressive day on his home course and he was excited about the round and for the state tournament. 
   
“I’m feeling pretty good with my round,” he said.  “That’s probably one of the best I’ve shot out here, so it came on the right day.” 
   
This is Weber’s first appearance in the state tournament.
