GRUNDY CENTER –  As of last weekend, the newest addition to the downtown business district is officially open – just in time for the holidays.

319 Décor + Design – owned and operated by Grundy Center native Katie McMartin – will offer interior selections for local homeowners, including lighting, cabinetry, countertops, flooring, furniture, home décor and more at the former Frederick Furniture location at 711 G Avenue.

McMartin held a soft opening for her new store on Saturday, and said that since she’s been open, she’s seen a lot of support from the community.

“We’ve been swamped,” McMartin said. “We had some sales for Small Business Saturday, and got a lot of people in for that. It’s been great.”

On top of helping customers pick out interior selections for their home, McMartin will also use her new space to meet with clients for her interior design business, ID by Katie. Her services in this area include everything from new construction design to home remodels to exterior finish selection to renderings/drafting and more.

“I hope I can be a sort of one stop shop to provide the client full access to every spectrum of interior design from floor plan and space planning, all the way up to cabinet design to putting the last picture on the wall,” she said.
