Kling Library receives grant for technology upgrades

Recently, the Kling Memorial Library was awarded a $5,600 grant through the Sara Lee Yoder Charitable Trust – which will be used to purchase a number of exciting new technology items to improve patron services, programming and library displays.

“Technology changes so fast, and it’s hard to stay current,” Engelkes said. “These funds will really help put the library above and beyond in the technology department, and help give the community great resources.”

The library meeting room will be one of the first areas to receive an upgrade, and funds will go towards installing a new wireless access point in the meeting room - and various other access points throughout the library - to provide better internet coverage. The library will also purchase a public announcement system with wireless microphones for speakers, programs and meetings.

“The library’s meeting room gets used frequently each month by businesses and organizations so we wanted to ensure that we have the best network and equipment available for these library users,” Engelkes said.
