A Dike woman is suing Easton Technical Products over claims that she was fired from the company’s local factory due to an injury she sustained at work in 2014.

Jennifer Briggs-Moen filed the suit in Grundy County District Court on January 16, and according to the documents, “the defendant jeopardized this public policy by discharging the plaintiff in retaliation for her work injury; (the) plaintiff was engaged in protected activity pursuant to Iowa Code § 85.18 when she made a claim for workers’ compensation, and this conduct was the reason she was discharged; and (the) defendant had no overriding business justification for plaintiff’s termination.”

It goes on to allege that the termination has resulted in damages including the loss of back pay, front pay and emotional distress.
