Main Street Grundy Center announces upcoming ‘Open 4 Business’ competition

GRUNDY CENTER – Business owners in Grundy Center’s Main Street District will have the chance to compete in a statewide ‘Open 4 Business’ competition this spring for a chance to win up to $28,000.
The competition aims to encourage business development in Main Street Districts across the state by offering business owners a chance to win money to better their business. Past winners have used the money for everything from remodeling to new equipment, and even to marketing.
Interested business owners will make an application, including a video pitch, that identifies how they hope to use the award money to better their business. From there, they will work with the Main Street Grundy Center office to submit the information to Main Street Iowa for the statewide competition.
“The whole purpose of the competition is to encourage business development, and I would encourage business owners in our Main Street District to participate because it’s an opportunity to receive free grant money to help build their business,” said MSGC director Bobbi Finarty.
