Mauer reports that wind farm is near completion

County Engineer Gary Mauer told the board of supervisors that the long-awaited Ivester Wind Farm on the western edge of the county along Highway 175 should be finished soon.
           
The tower and blades have gone up on all but two of the 35 total structures, and Mauer added that he’s had a strong working relationship with Mortenson Construction, the Minneapolis-based contractor on the project. The company has provided videotapes of all of the heavily trafficked roads and hauled rock to replace what’s lost.
           
“This crew’s been better to work with than the last crew on my end,” he said.
