Mosher family receives Good Farm Neighbor award

The Mosher family didn’t know how many guests to expect at the Liscomb Community Center on Friday, but even they were blown away by the turnout as over 250 patrons filed in to honor them for receiving a “Good Farm Neighbor” award from the Coalition to Support Iowa’s Farmers.
           
“This isn’t about the Mosher family. This is about you,” Jim Mosher said while accepting the award. “A thank you to you for the support, the help and all the friendship you’ve given us.”
           
The Moshers—Esther and Norval, their son Jim (with his wife Brenda) and daughter Dynette, and granddaughters Leah and Lauren—were all on hand for the acceptance ceremony, and WHO radio’s “Big Show” with Bob Quinn, Mark Pearson and Doug Cooper broadcasted live from the community center. BJ Hoffman, a Hardin County supervisor who lives just north of the Moshers’ Angus farm on the outskirts of Liscomb, nominated them for the award.
           
“They’re a fourth generation farming family, and they’ve always gone to extraordinary measures to make sure that things are done the right way, not the easy way,” Hoffman said. “The fact that they’re human beings, they have a human interest and they want what’s best for the community makes them a great award winner for this.”
