The start of the new year means the merger between the Grundy Center Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Grundy Center is official, and the group is now looking forward to a busy first year as a combined Chamber-Main Street organization.

Lisa Bienfang, Grundy Center Chamber-Main Street Director, says the organization will have a lot of details to figure out with their first year as a combined organization, but she says board and committee members are all looking forward to the exciting goals and plans of 2019.

“We’re really excited to build collective capacity in partnerships with other businesses and organizations and work to improve the quality of life here in Grundy Center,” she said. “There’s been a lot of good things that both organizations have achieved in the past and we see a lot of potential with our combined group. We really are better together, and this [merger] will streamline our work and make us much more effective without duplicating work.”
