Ready to go: Seniors shine, BCLUW rolls

CONRAD – When you don't get a chance to practice, sometimes the best you can do is improvise.

Like most teams in this part of Iowa, the BCLUW girls basketball team will be playing on the fly in the run up to the postseason as teams scramble to get as many games in as possible.

Friday was a good sign for BCLUW coach Dave Lee, as the Comets worked together for a strong 49-17 win against Gladbrook-Reinbeck at BCLUW High School.

Combined with BCLUW's five-point win over West Marshall 24 hours later, the Comets are looking very impressive in the home stretch.

"A lot of it is going to be, can we sustain the energy to play all these ballgames next week," Lee said. "We did a good job tonight, but somehow we have to measure what we can do and we have to be smart with how we play to sustain more energy."
