Regional volleyball pairings released

The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released regional postseason pairings for the volleyball teams in the state on Tuesday, Oct. 2.
 
In Class 2A Region 7, No. 1 Grundy Center plays at home on Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. against the winner of an Oct. 16 first-round game between Jesup and North Linn. Grundy Center is also the site of the regional semifinal on Oct. 25. The regional final is Oct. 30 at Cedar Rapids Xavier.
 
In 2A Region 4, BCLUW received a first-round bye and will play either Belle Plaine or East Marshall on Oct. 22 in Conrad. The regional semifinal is scheduled for Oct. 25 in Jewell, with the regional final in Earlham on Oct. 30.
 
In 2A Region 6, Aplington-Parkersburg hosts West Fork on Oct. 16 in an opening-round game, with the winner playing No. 7 Dike-New Hartford in Dike on Oct. 22. The Region 6 semifinal is Oct. 25 in Charles City, while the final is Oct. 30 in Parkersburg.
 
Gladbrook-Reinbeck hosts an opening-round game in Class 1A Region 3 against GMG on Oct. 16 in Reinbeck. The 1A No. 11 Rebels would also potentially host a regional quarterfinal on Oct. 22. The regional final is Oct. 30 in Boone.
 
In 1A Region 4, AGWSR travels to Clarksville for an opening-round game on Oct. 16. The winner plays defending champion Janesville in Janesville on Oct. 22. The Region 4 final is Oct. 30 in Clarion.
 
The state volleyball tournament runs from Nov. 6 to Nov. 9 at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids.
