Class 2A Region 6

BCLUW (9-12) at Aplington-Parkersburg (9-12)
When: 7 p.m.
Where: Aplington-Parkersburg High School, Parkersburg
At stake: The winner travels to Montezuma for a regional quarterfinal on Feb. 14.
BCLUW key players: Samantha Ubben, sr. (11.7 points per game, 4.8 rebounds per game, 3.5 assists per game, 3.8 steals per game); Lauren Anderson, jr. (6.7 points per game, 8.1 rebounds per game, 21 blocks per game); Kaylee Goecke, jr. (6.5 points per game, 1.9 rebounds per game, 24-of-84 3-pointers)
A-P key players: Dani Johnson, sr. (6.4 points per game, 6.7 rebounds per game, 1.7 blocks per game); Jenna Bruns, so. (5.6 points per game, 4.3 rebounds per game, 1.8 assists per game); Kaitlyn Mohwinkle, sr. (5.9 points per game, 6.2 rebounds per game, 1.3 blocks per game).
BCMoore computer prediction: A-P by 6
Previous meeting: A-P defeated BCLUW 43-33 in Parkersburg on Nov. 29.
Outlook: After missing a chunk of the season with an ankle injury, Mohwinkle may be the X-factor for the Falcons in this game with the Comets. She’s been an excellent complement to Johnson’s work underneath the basket while also showing some range from the perimeter as one of A-P’s most accurate shooters from the 3-point line. But most of the action on Saturday will be inside the paint and while BCLUW works hard with a diverse attack rebounding off the glass, A-P’s game-tested depth off the bench may be too much for the Comets, especially with the confidence of a win over BCLUW earlier in the season.

Class 3A Region 4

Dike-New Hartford (13-9) at Clear Lake (18-3)
When: 7 p.m.
Where: Clear Lake High School
At stake: The winner plays either Osage or Oelwein on Wednesday, Feb. 15 in Clear Lake.
Dike-New Hartford key players:  Baylee Petersen, jr. (9.9 points per game, 6.1 rebounds per game, 51 total steals, 17 total blocks); Ellie Foster, fr. (10.4 points per game, 2.7 rebounds per game, 40 total assists, 36 total steals); Sydney Petersen, jr. (8.2 points per game, 2.2 rebounds per game, 34 total steals, 28.7 3-point percentage)
Clear Lake key players: Jessica Faber, sr. (12.1 points per game, 4.2 rebounds per game, 44 total steals, 33.6 3-point percentage); Sara Faber, fr. (11.5 points per game, 4.6 rebounds per game, 46 total assists, 3.1 steals per game); Jordyn Barragy, jr. (7.3 points per game, 4.2 rebounds per game, 31 total steals, 33.8 3-point percentage)
BCMoore computer prediction: Clear Lake by 20
Outlook: 3A No. 8 Clear Lake is playing well down the stretch but has a major obstacle to overcome in filling in for senior star Emily Snelling (19.4 ppg., 5.0 rpg.) who ended her high school career on the hardwood with an ACL injury during a Jan. 27 game with Humboldt. The Lions can score with the best of them, however, unafraid to take the long shot with 475 3-point attempts so far this season (137 made – 28.8 percent), and averaging a little over 56 points per game. The Wolverines are no doubt equipped for the challenge defensively, in the top 10 in Class 3A for fewest points allowed with only 38 scored on the Wolverines per game. D-NH will need to convert on their own offensive opportunities as well, though, to put true pressure on the Lions. One of the biggest things going for the Wolverines is a last-second win over then-No. 9 West Marshall in their regular-season finale, the Trojans another example of a good team missing a star player. Perhaps lightning could strike twice.
