Several seats still open in city election races

GRUNDY COUNTY- Those in search of local elections to mirror the bombast and pageantry of the 2016 federal cycle will have to look elsewhere on November 7: as of Wednesday, none of the city elections in Grundy County will be contested, and several of the seats have no candidates filed to fill open seats.
Three Grundy County mayors are not seeking re-election this year—Brian Buhrow in Grundy Center, Cami Nederhoff in Wellsburg and Joe Rich in Stout. Stout and Wellsburg present a rather perplexing case in that each city has four seats on the ballot (mayor and three council members) and no candidates to fill them. Thus, all of the races will be chosen by write-in votes. Unless noted, polls will be open from noon to 8:00 p.m. in all of the elections.
