Supervisors discuss vacating gravel road

During a brief session on Monday morning, the Grundy County Board of Supervisors discussed the vacation of 280th Street along the Tama County line with assistant engineer Steve Cox and GNB Bank Director of Trust Services Jason Kirkpatrick.
           
According to Kirkpatrick, GNB Trust manages some of the nearby land, and part of the road runs into Tama County straight south of Grundy Center in Washington Township. He has reached out to all of the affected landowners and reached a consensus and thus far has not received any negative feedback. Other portions of the sparsely traveled road have previously been vacated.
           
“I don’t foresee a problem with it,” Cox said.
