Supervisors discuss weather woes, approve absentee ballot resolution

The Grundy County Board of Supervisors caught up on the adverse road conditions throughout the area and approved a sure count deadline for absentee ballots during a brief regular meeting on Monday morning.
           
County Engineer Gary Mauer reported that plows were kept off the road Sunday and returned early Monday morning, and major highways including Interstate 35 were still impassable at the time of the meeting. Mauer noted that the sheriff’s office had been proactive in helpful in assisting stranded motorists.
           
“This has probably been the toughest February I’ve had since I’ve been here, but we’ll get through it,” Mauer said.
