BCMoore computer prediction: AGWSR by 16
Outlook: After hitting a rough spot during the early days of 2017, AGWSR fell from the girls rankings and haven’t returned. The Cougars are rolling into the postseason, in the midst of an eight-game winning streak that includes a 43-34 win over 3A No. 9 West Marshall on Feb. 3. Senior Alana Groninga is working her way back into the lineup after a knee injury kept her out most of the season for the Cougars. As for North Butler, the Bearcats play well under pressure, with a 3-1 record in games decided by three points or less this season. The Cougars’ experience against tough competition makes this an intimidating matchup for North Butler, though.
Class 1A Region 4

Valley Lutheran (2-18) at Gladbrook-Reinbeck (1-20)
When: 7 p.m.
Where: Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School, Reinbeck
At stake: The winner travels to Janesville for a regional quarterfinal at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14.
Valley Lutheran key players: Emma Armbrecht, jr. (11.6 points per game, 9.2 rebounds per game, 2.45 blocks per game, 2.6 steals per game); Ardis White, sr. (7.1 rebounds per game, 4.5 points per game); Katelynn Panning, jr. (4.6 points per game, 4.1 rebounds per game)
Gladbrook-Reinbeck key players: Taylor Gienger, so. (11.4 points per game, 3.9 rebounds per game, 35 total steals, 24 total assists); Megan Swanson, jr. (5.1 points per game, 6.2 rebounds per game); Maddie Frischmeyer, jr. (3.3 points per game, 2.6 rebounds per game)
BCMoore computer prediction: Gladbrook-Reinbeck by 5
Outlook: G-R earned its first win of the season on Jan. 28 with a 40-39 victory over North Tama. Valley Lutheran, on the other hand, has not won since Dec. 6, 2016, a 15-game winless streak by an average deficit of 29.7 points per game. While not notably deep, Armbrecht will provide a challenge for a G-R girls team that has struggled at times with allowing big scoring runs to opponents.
