Wellsburg Fire Dept. purchases thermal imaging camera

For small town, volunteer fire departments like Wellsburg Fire Department, it can be hard to find enough money in the city budget to purchase necessary equipment - but that doesn’t mean there’s not a need for that equipment.
 
Luckily for the Wellsburg Fire Department, a dedicated fundraising team and lots of support from the community means that the department is able to keep their equipment up to date, and purchase new equipment when needed.
 
Just recently, the Wellsburg Fire Department was able to purchase a Thermal Imaging Camera. This high tech piece of equipment converts infrared waves from heat into a video or image that department members can use for a variety of purposes - from search and rescue, to finding hot spots.
 
Chase Babcock, a member of the Wellsburg Fire Department, says the new camera will help move the department forward and help them on calls.
