Wellsburg woman charged after alleged scissor attack

A Wellsburg woman faces assault charges after allegedly attacking a male victim with a pair of scissors at a residence in town.
           
Carissa Louise Bryant was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault—Injury or Mental Illness First Offense on October 2 after deputy Kyle Wolthoff was called to her home in response to a domestic dispute.
           
According to the alleged victim’s account, Bryant threw a cup at him and stabbed him in the back with a pair of scissors as he attempted to walk out the door. Deputy Wolthoff reported observing a small circular spot on the man’s back and a small spot of blood. She was taken into custody and booked at the Grundy County Jail the same night.
