Wolverine girls track leads area teams at home meet

   DIKE – The Dike-New Hartford girls’ track and field team placed third at its home relay event at Dike-New Hartford High School to lead a quartet of Register-area teams competing at the event last Thursday.
   The Wolverines scored 78 points, trailing only West Marshall (138) and Aplington-Parkersburg (81) in the team standings. AGWSR was fifth with 53 team points, Grundy Center was sixth with 50 points and Gladbrook-Reinbeck was 16th in the 18-team field with eight points.
   Winners for D-NH on Thursday included Alayna Kollasch in the 800 in a time of 2:30.69 and Haleigh Durnin in the long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 1 inch. The Wolverines’ best relay was the distance medley team of Courtney Bolhuis, Sydney Petersen, Allie Aalderks and Kollasch who placed third in the race in 4:35.79.
