Wrestlers battle for state berth on Saturday

Dike-New Hartford leads the Grundy Register coverage area with six district qualifiers as wrestlers around the state prepare for Saturday's district tournaments.
 
South Hardin-BCLUW qualified four wrestlers, including three sectional champions, for the Class 2A district tournament. Aplington-Parkersburg/Grundy Center has a single qualifier, Brier Uhlenhopp.
 
In 1A, five AGWSR wrestlers advanced to the district round.
 
The top two wrestlers in each weight class will advance to the state tournament, held Feb. 14-16 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
 
Action begins at noon. In Class 2A, D-NH, South Hardin-BCLUW and Aplington-Parkersburg/Grundy Center district qualifiers will compete at Independence High School. In Class 1A, AGWSR competes at a Denver district meet.
