All-NICL West Girls Basketball Team: Thoren named Outstanding Player

Grundy Center senior Lainy Thoren earned the Outstanding Player award as part of the release of the 2021-22 All-NICL West Girls Basketball Teams on Feb. 24.

Thoren averaged 13.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 3.2 steals per game in division play for the Spartans. Grundy Center won the NICL West with a perfect 10-0 record.

Thoren is one of three Spartans on the first team, along with seniors Paiton Wallis and Bailey Reding. Thoren and Wallis were unanimous picks to the first team, as were BCLUW senior Allison Engle and East Marshall sophomore Morgan Neuroth.

Also on the first team are seniors Grace Finger of AGWSR and Katie Clark of Gladbrook-Reinbeck.
