Area basketball student-athletes earn academic all-state honors
AGWSR senior Natalie Lippert and Dike-New Hartford seniors Katie Knock and Derek Kinney were named to 2019-2020 academic all-state teams released by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association and Iowa Basketball Coaches Association.
Knock and Kinney were named to the IBCA's academic all-state teams.
The teams are a collection of 22 girls and 26 boys chosen from a large group of applicants. The boys team averaged 14.4 points per game this season and had a GPA of 3.8. The girls team averaged 13.8 points per game with a 4.03 GPA.
Lippert was named to the IGCA's academic all-state girls basketball team.
Members of this team are required to be seniors, have a minimum of a 27 score on the ACT (1200 or higher on the SAT) and a GPA of 3.75 or better. Lippert was one of 43 members of the team.
