The following performers from area high schools were accepted for a recent performance at the Meistersinger Honor Choir Festival at Wartburg College:

Grundy Center - Juliana Corbett, Aiden Del Castillo, Lilly Lewis, Jessica Saak, Cadence Schroer;

AGWSR - Aiden DeWolf;

Dike-New Hartford - Lexie Fager, Jacob Gibbs, Cole Graves, Sam Heerts, Becca Jorgensen, Ian Steffen;

Gladbrook-Reinbeck - Brandon Strohbehn, Wesley Latchman, Vanessa Arvizu-Ersland, Nattalee Brinkman.

The honor choir performed Jan. 24 in Waverly. Students are nominated by their high school vocal directors and join singers from high schools across the region to perform music with high-level artists, and also meet with Wartburg vocal faculty Dr. Lee Nelson, Dr. Nicki Toliver, and Wartburg students to learn more about music opportunities after high school.

As part of the one-day-only event, the performers also had a director’s session with 2022’s featured director, Dr. André Thomas. Dr. Thomas is a recently retired Owen F. Sellers Professor of Music, Director of Choral Activities, and Professor of Choral Music Education at Florida State University.
