Avis Winifred (Smith) Jones

Avis Winifred (Smith) Jones, age 92, passed away peacefully at a private home in Medford, Oregon on February 16, 2014, and is with the Lord in Heaven. A funeral service for Avis will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 11 a.m. at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, 509 4th St., Grundy Center, with visitation held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Rosehill Cemetery in Grundy Center. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.abelsfuneralhomes.com. The family requests any memorials be sent to Grundy Center First Baptist Church, where Avis always felt at home. She attended there as a young child and frequently sang solo to the congregation as a child on many Sundays.
