Bangasser leads Spartan boys past BCLUW

CONRAD — The Grundy Center boys’ golf team improved to 2-0 on the young season last Thursday with a 165-202 victory over BCLUW at Oakwood Country Club in Conrad.
Senior Lane Bangasser paced the Spartans with a round of 39 while Sam Thompson shot 40 and both Austin Burroughs and Tanner Pelzer had rounds of 43 each. Grundy Center scratched scores were from Nick Saak (45) and Jesper Holke-Farnam 48.
“When the weather cooperates and gives us favorable conditions, as was the case in this meet, I would like to think this year’s team is capable of consistently shooting this type of score throughout the season,” Coach Dennis Dirks said.
