Barbara Lee (Stanley) Miller

Barbara Lee (Stanley) Miller, 88 of Conrad, IA, much loved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of June 27, 2022 at Oakview Nursing Home. A Celebration of Life was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2022 at the United Methodist Church in Conrad. Visitation was from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2022 at the United Methodist Church in Conrad. Barbara was born in Marshalltown, IA on July 11, 1933 to Ernest and Merle (Sager) Stanley.  Barbara was a long-time member of the Conrad United Methodist Church.  She loved to read and watch Westerns.  Barbara loved children.  Along with raising 6 children, she taught pre-school at the Conrad United Methodist Church with her good friends, Marlys Dielschneider and Barbara Stevens.  She was also a lover of teddy bears and was an assistant teddy bear maker for Once Upon a Time Bears for many years.  Prior to marriage, she graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1951 and was a telephone operator.  

Barbara is survived by the love of her life, Jerry Miller.  They met on a blind date and celebrated 67 years of marriage on June 5, 2022.  Barbara is also survived by her 6 children and numerous grand, great-grand and great-great grandchildren.  Her children are Allen and Sandi Miller (Marshalltown, IA), LeAnn and Denny Lynch (Conrad, IA), Lynne and Ken Kimbrel (Nixa, MO), Laurie and Terry Dahms (Iowa City, IA), Lisa and Marcus Moe (Rochester, MN) and Todd and Tammy Miller (New Hampton, IA).  She was proceeded in death by her parents and 2 brothers; Robert Stanley and Darrel Stanley and 1 sister; Sondra Rossio.
