Cleveland joins Register staff as administrative assistant

Amy Cleveland has joined the staff of The Grundy Register as an administrative assistant and started work earlier this week.
           
Cleveland, a native of East Dubuque, Illinois, met her husband Nick at the University of Dubuque, and they relocated to Dike with their two children, Ava and Tristan, in 2007. Since then, she’s worked as a hairstylist and as a library assistant at the Dike Public Library, and Nick is currently a city councilman.
           
“We found a house that we loved and a community we loved in Dike,” she said. “Since I lived in a small town, I really wanted my kids to grow up in a small town.”
           
After deciding to seek out a new challenge, she successfully applied for the position and impressed fellow staff members in her interview. 
           
“I really like Grundy County. I like Dike, and I thought it’d be a fun challenge to work at the newspaper and get to know this community,” she said.
