Conrad banks team up to honor BCLUW seniors
CONRAD- For all of the havoc it has wreaked, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought together people, organizations and businesses from all over the area—even those who are otherwise competitors.
GNB Bank and MidwestOne Bank have teamed up to provide yard signs honoring 2020 BCLUW seniors with the name of the entire class.
“In a world where everything you’ve thought about and planned for is turned upside down, it’s nice to have your community step up and recognize your hard work and accomplishments. And that is how the concept of the BCLUW Graduate Yard Signs was born,” Lynne Kock of MidwestOne Bank said. “It’s a token of how proud this community is of our graduates and how they adapted and changed on a dime. Although nobody would have predicted or wished this for them, they are embracing it and will be stronger and better for it.”
The 34 seniors will not formally celebrate their graduation until a commencement ceremony in late June, and local businesses have found a number of ways to honor them since classes were suspended in March. As events like prom and spring sports have been put on hold, there are still some signs of positivity in the communities that make up BCLUW.
“We are happy to help sponsor recognition of the 2020 Senior Class. They have spent many years working hard to reach this milestone - as schoolmates, friends and teammates,” GNB Marketing Director Amanda Grineski said. “Though their school year may not have been what they hoped, they have sure shown their resiliency and have so much to be proud of. We want to honor the Class of 2020 and wish them all the best as they begin this next big chapter in their story.”
