Cougars set to play for District 2 championship
LAKE MILLS — AGWSR overcame a sluggish first half to set up a one-game showdown for the Class A, District 2 championship with a 31-6 victory at Lake Mills Friday.
The Cougars (9-0 overall, 6-0 in district play) host Prairie Valley in a winner-takes-all season finale Friday. Prairie Valley (5-3, 5-1) has won five straight games since dropping its season opener.
The teams went to the locker room tied 6-6 after trading second-quarter touchdowns. The Cougars scored on an Evan Janssen 10-yard run but missed the point-after kick before Lake Mills tied the game on a 29-yard pass play, missing its two-point conversion try.
