Crew leads local runners at NICL cross country meet

    REINBECK — Dike-New Hartford junior John Crew ran to third place, leading area finishers at the North Iowa Cedar League Cross Country meet Saturday at Oakleaf Golf Course in Reinbeck.
    The D-NH girls placed third in the team race while the boys were fifth, while Grundy Center’s girls placed 10th. The Spartan boys ran with only four individuals and did not score as a team.
    “We were very pleased with Saturday’s efforts by our runners,” Dike-New Hartford coach Will Reingardt said. “The NICL Conference always has very tough teams and that helps us prepare for this time of year. Saturday is going to help us get ready for this Thursday for districts at Pella.”
