D-NH girls overcome adversity in regional wins
DIKE — Dike-New Hartford overcame the loss of its starting point guard to win its first two regional games last week, 55-44 over Alburnett in a regional quarterfinal and 62-41 over Hudson in a regional semi.
The Wolverines (22-2) fell to Iowa City Regina 42-29 in the Class 2A, Region 6 final Monday. A related story on that game is printed elsewhere in today’s sports section.
D-NH played all three regional games without senior Briana Weber, who left the team after the regular season.
“Friday (Feb. 13) we had to do some adjusting with the team, moving players around,” Wolverine coach Bruce Dall said. “I thought the girls did a good job of adjusting and following the game plan.”
