D-NH girls track and field lead area at Hudson

HUDSON – Dike-New Hartford girls track and field led the area teams with a third-place finish at a 15-team meet in Hudson last Tuesday.

The Wolverines were third with 90 points - Decorah won the team title with 128.5 points, followed by Denver with 114 points. Grundy Center was seventh with 46.5 points, AGWSR eighth with 34.5 points and BCLUW 13th with 24 points.

D-NH winners were Jadyn Petersen in the long jump and Taylor Kvale in the 400 hurdles.

Grundy Center did not win any events on Tuesday but did have runner-up finishes in the distance medley - Paiton Wallis, Blessing Edittu, Laney Dole and Taylor Stahl carrying the baton - and Dahlia Gardiner also had a silver in the long jump.

AGWSR’s Karis Lippert won the 800-meter run in 2:36.00. Abby Veld added a second-place finish in the shot put with a toss of 38 feet even.

BCLUW had a couple strong relays on Tuesday - the distance medley relay team of Marrisa Grant, Kenna Paxson, Fiona Speicher and Kalia Stover finished fourth in 4:52.39; the 4x800 quartet of Miranda Jones, Mallori Jones, Abby Kemp and Kalia Stover grabbed fifth in 10:56.98.
