Dale Aukes

Dale E. Aukes, 77, of Marshalltown, Iowa, formerly of Bangor, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Grandview Heights Rehab and Healthcare.

Per the wishes of Dale and his family, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation celebrating his life will take place on Saturday, December 2 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Dale Eugene Aukes, the youngest of six children, was born February 15, 1946 in Wellsburg, Iowa to parents John and Helen (Evert) Aukes. He graduated from Wellsburg High School with the class of 1964. Dale was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mary Speas, on February 18, 1966 at his great aunt’s house in Marshalltown. Dale worked at Fisher Controls for 10 years followed by Minerva Valley Fertilizer. In retirement, he worked part-time at Theisens. In his free time, Dale enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, cooking and carpentry work.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Kelly (Robert) Peshel and Monte Aukes; grandchildren: Molly (Joseph) Lakeman and Hannah Peshel; siblings: Wayne (Carol) Aukes and Lavonne (Kempton) Walbaum and several other relatives.

Dale is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 34 years, Mary; his parents John and Helen; and his siblings: Virginia (Douglas) Geerdes, Virgil (Joann) Aukes and Evelyn (Keith) Be Neui.
