Debra (Deb) Denise Oltman

GRUNDY CENTER — Debra (Deb) Denise Oltman, 68, of Grundy Center died March 6, 2025, at Grundy County Memorial Hospital. 

A private family service will be held at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center followed by a private family burial service at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center. 

Deb was born on January 3, 1957, daughter of Sonny and Darlene Beenken. She graduated from Grundy Center High School. She married the love of her life, Dicky Oltman on a Wednesday (her dad’s birthday) on June 23, 1976. Deb raised her three boys in her in-home daycare until 2002. Deb then worked for Arlington Place of Grundy Center before retiring in 2021 from Unifirst (A-Kleen). 

Deb loved her family most of all. She was blessed to have her children and grandchildren all in Grundy Center. She would constantly make her family’s favorite meals and baked goods and would deliver them to their homes. She could make any cake that was asked of her, from Ninja Turtles to Unicorns and everything in between. She never forgot a birthday or the card with her beautiful handwriting to go with. She has always had a big heart for animals, especially her pups. If she wasn’t going out to eat with Dicky and her family, being a stuffed animal doctor for her grandkids, going to the casino with her “favorite son” Darren, then you will find her working with Dicky in her garden. 

Deb is survived by her husband, Dicky; three sons, Dustin (Jess) Oltman; Danny (Maria) Oltman; Darren (Lenah) Oltman; seven grandkids, Dylan, Jenna, Dalton, Wyatt, Carsten, Maddie and Dax. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sonny and Darlene Beenken. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Grundy County Memorial Hospital.
