Dickinson Relays kick off track season

CEDAR FALLS – Prior to the four-week spring shutdown, girls and boys track and field teams competed at the two-day Dickinson Relays at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls – girls on March 9, boys on March 10.

G-R's Saari Kuehl placed 15th in the girls high jump after clearing 4 feet, 10 inches. Kuehl also had the best Rebels finish in a racing event, placing 99th in the 200 in 30.13. Emma McClintock added a 40th-place finish in the long jump, leaping 14 feet, 9 inches.

Jensen Clapp led the Grundy Center boys with a 10th-place finish in the open 400 in 52.98. Matt Jansen was 30th in the 60-meter dash prelims in 7.37 and Wes Willis added a 41st-place finish in the shot put, throwing 43 feet, 1.5 inches.

BCLUW's Carson Hoffman placed 40th in the long jump with a leap of 19 feet even.
