Donna Palmer

Donna Palmer, 80, of Grundy Center, Iowa passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020 at the Grundy Care Center. Per Donna’s wishes, there will be no services. Since it is the season of giving and Donna always enjoyed giving all kids presents, please consider donating to Toys for Tots. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.

 

Donna was born on January 4, 1940 in Grundy Center, Iowa. She was the daughter of Joseph & Mary (Cooley) Wical. Donna graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1958. While Donna held many jobs over the years, painting was her true passion. Everyone knew she was excellent at it and there are many houses around the area that she helped freshen up. Even in her later years, when she couldn’t climb the ladders anymore, her son, Kyle, would go along to help reach the high spots, so she could continue doing what she loved.

 

Anyone who knew Donna, knew she loved to cook and bake. When you walked in her house you would often be greeted by the appetizing smell coming out of her oven. She had many specialties, but nothing beat her cinnamon rolls. No one ever left her house hungry or empty-handed. You could always count on Donna to send a good card. She never forgot an anniversary or a birthday.

 

Donna is survived by her son Kyle (Kelly) Kruse; grandchildren Kassie (Casey) Billerbeck, Britni (Kyle) Curren, Trevor Kruse, Chelsee (Brad) Bohe, and Reed Kruse; great-grandchildren Barrett & Brylee Cooke, Carter Curren and Briggs Bohe; brother Denny (Eileen) Wical and a niece and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and children, daughter Pamela Billerbeck, son Kurt Kruse and an infant son Kory Palmer.
