Elizabeth "Liz" Olson
Elizabeth "Liz" Olson, 54, of rural Conrad, IA passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, IA. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 31, 2022 at New Hope Christian Church in Marshalltown, IA. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. Inurnment will be at the Conrad Cemetery. Liz was born April 21, 1967 to LeRoy and Joan (Miller) Koch. She graduated from BCL High School in 1985. Liz furthered her education, graduating from Marshalltown Community College. She was united in marriage to Brent “Porky” Olson and later divorced. Liz made her home with Wayne Nekola in Gladbrook, IA. She was employed with the Beaman Coop, Shorr Packaging in Ankeny, IA, and most recently, Liz was employed with the Meskwaki Tribe in Tama, IA. Liz loved her girls, they were the three musketeers. She loved her time spent with Wayne traveling up and down the Mississippi River and Ranger Rides. She was a TV junkie, watching her favorite TV show, Sex and the City, and her paranormal/ghost shows and movies. She loved everything pink, whether it was her favorite sweater, flowers, or her nails. If you ever needed your sweet fix, Liz could probably help you out, whether it was Reese’s or watermelon Hubba Bubba. She will be remembered for her kind heart and amazing sense of humor. She loved hard, and she never knew a stranger. Most importantly, Liz loved time spent with her kids and grandkids.
Liz will be missed by her life partner, Wayne Nekola of Gladbrook, two daughters; Kellie Collins of Conrad, Maddie (Max) Callaway of Conrad, a granddaughter, Wyllo Collins, a grandson Crew Callaway, a sister, Tess (Mike) Neuroth of Ankeny, IA' a brother, Marty (Martha) Koch of Williamsburg, IA, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, her beloved dog, Zoey, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
