Esther Marie Corrigan

NEW HARTFORD -- Esther Marie Corrigan, 93, of New Hartford, Iowa, died Friday, January 24, 2025, at New Aldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 31, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Parkersburg from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Parkersburg. Burial will follow lunch at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Waterloo.
Esther was born on Nov. 7, 1931, near Amity, rural Dinsdale, the daughter of Claus and Frieda (Engel) Hein. She attended Garwin schools, graduating in 1949. Esther was united in marriage to John E. Corrigan on Feb. 6, 1951, at St. Boniface Church in Garwin. She spent her time helping John on the farm and raising her children.
Esther was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Parkersburg, Altar Society, and New Hartford American Legion Auxiliary. Esther’s greatest enjoyment was time spent with her children and grandchildren. She also liked stained glass, ceramics, baking, and gardening.
Esther’s memory is honored by: three surviving children, Michael (Cheryl) Corrigan of Rainier, Washington, Betty (Jim) Jamison of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Daniel (Stacey) Corrigan of New Hartford; eight grandchildren, Timothy Wagenaar, Sarah Myers, Hannah Noel, Kyle Davis, Jen Jamison, Chrissy Jamison, Nathan Corrigan, and Matthew Corrigan; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband, daughter, Diane Wagenaar; sister, Betty Branum; and two brothers, Albert and Don Hein.
