Faust is awarded Bachelor’s Degree from Caldwell University
Stephanie Faust of Grundy Center was posthumously awarded a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Caldwell University in Caldwell, New Jersey, this spring.
Stephanie graduated from Grundy Center High School in 2015 and went on to attend Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, where she played soccer and earned an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies.
While playing soccer at Indian Hills, she led her soccer team as Captain. After two years at Indian Hills, she was awarded a scholarship to play soccer for Caldwell University in Caldwell, New Jersey, where she was also named Captain of her team.
In her spare time between school and soccer, Stephanie earned her certificate as a personal trainer and worked part time training in New Jersey.
After Stephanie passed away in June of 2018, her friends, teammates, instructors, coaches and classmates at Caldwell University held a memorial service for her in the fall, to remember her for the driven, passionate and shining person she was. This spring, her family received word from the President of Caldwell University, letting them know that the school had awarded her a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
Caldwell University’s President contacted Stephanie’s parents, Steve and Connie Faust, to let them know that the school had petitioned successfully to present them with a degree for Stephanie because her teammates, coaches, friends and classmates thought so highly of her and the impact she made during her time at Caldwell.
